My Kid's Birthday Planning & Party Pt 2

Let me start off by saying that I had intentions on documenting the entire party planning process but babay.........these past few weeks drained me lol. I've had some new revelations and new things happening plus I had to get a impacted wisdom teeth extracted while doing my best to manage life, social life, work and planning the kid's party almost wiped me out but I made it!

Now let's get on with the recap of The Kid's (mentioned as TK from now on) birthday party. It was a blast and all the kids enjoyed themselves fully even though we had a few bumbs along the way.

Let's start with the cake. I'm super proud of the work I did. I can't be humble about it, not gonna lie. As you know, TK requested a rainbow lemonade garden cake with fresh strawberries. So of course I watched countless videos and looked at dozens of pictures to see how I could achieve the look she wanted and to piece together what she wanted. After days of watching and looking, I started working on the cake a day before the party. Risky I know but I did it. I wasn't able to squeeze in the fresh strawberries but she was really happy with the cake so that's all that mattered. I also made tiny Oreo garden cakes.

Next let's talk about how TK took the reigns and led a class on repotting! She was so confident and knowledgable. I filled in the gaps where she needed me to but for the most part, she was on point. I was such a proud mama. The kids and some adults had the choice between a marigold, dusty miller and a white flower I can't remember the name of. Everyone followed her directions and successfully repotted their own plants to take home as a party favors.

The best part of it all was seeing TK's vision come to life and seeing how happy she was with everything. My goal as a mother to a beautiful and courageous girl is to always allow her to express herself and have a voice. I never want her to move through the world like she can't speak up for herself and I want her to know that she can always be true to herself. She can like whatever she likes and does not have to follow the trends, if she so chooses.

So all in all, huge success but next year, I think we're just gonna go on a trip. It all wore me out.
