My Kid's Birthday Planning Pt.1

Every year, since my kid's 4th birthday, I have let her pick the theme. It's always some hybrid fantastical theme and I spend about 2 months putting it together because what she wants is never cookie cutter so I always end up making most things from scratch. I love it because I’m extra af too so I get to be my extra self to give her the most extra possible birthday experience according to her wishes. The best part of her birthday is that it’s in the spring so the weather is always pretty good and spring themes are usually the best.
Each past year's theme:
4th- Unicorn Birthday (see here). Everything was pastel and unicorn themed. It was super cute
5th- Purrthday Pink Kitty Party (chile the pictures are somewhere) Everything was about pink cats. That doesn't really exist so I baked cookies, made mini charcuterie boxes, painted the banner and made the cake topper. The cake was a graduation cake from Publix that I asked them to not put the decor on. I made a bunch of other things too.
6th- Fairyland Tea Party (see here). Whew this one was the most fantastical. I actually baked the cake. I made cupcakes and cookies and thrifted the decor and made paper flowers. It was A LOT but I loved every bit.
This year her theme is, drumroll please...........................A Rainbow Gardening Party. She is very specific about what she wants too. She wants everyone to garden with her and leave with their own plant. She wants a seed bar and a jewelry making station. For the adults, she requested BBQ and grown up drinks (liquor lol niece is looking out for us) and for the children, a charcuterie board with all of her favorite bites and fruit skewers with three different drinks, water, fresh fruit punch and fresh squeezed strawberry lemonade. Her cake must be a strawberry lemonade cake with rainbow buttercream and fresh strawberries that also has bees, butterflies and flowers. I don’t know how that’s going to be but I have found some inspiration (look below).
Needless to say I have a tall order so hopefully I’ll be able to create a birthday that she likes. I will be documenting the journey and the things I’ve found/created to make this year’s birthday happen.
Until next time,
B
